managingpersonalfinances.Inaddition,studentsshouldbeabletoexpressagreementor

disagreementwhentheydiscussanddebatehowtoearn,save,andspendmoneywisely.

Warm-up

Procedures:

1.Givestudentsoneminutetoidentifythemessagescontainedinthecartoon.Studentsmay

havetheirinterpretations,butgenerally:1)collegetuitionisquitehigh;2)themotheris

encouragingherdaughtertomakegooduseofthepocketmoney.

2.Then,organizeafreediscussiononthetwoquestionsbelowthecartoon.

3.Inviteafewstudentstosharetheiranswersabouthowtheypayforcollegeandwhatthey

usetheirallowancefor.
